Detailed Summary[]
Yanagin approaches a juice dispenser and begins to look inside her bag for some money. Suddenly, she notices something on the coin slot. To her shock, it turns out to be a frog perching there. Confused as to what to do about it, she ends up asking it to move aside, and it pays her no attention.
Yanagin kicks the machine in desperation
After a brief silence, she violently kicks the dispenser in an attempt to make the frog move away. It refuses to budge and she criticises herself for resorting to something so desperate. Yanagin then realises there’s no other way out, and reaches out for the frog, swallowing her disgust. With a great deal of effort, she forces herself to pick it off the slot and set it down on the ground.
She heaves a deep sigh of relief at the end of the ordeal and takes out a 1000-yen note to put into the dispenser. As she brings it towards the paper slot, she suddenly notices her blunder and that there had been no need to free the coin slot. Embarrassed that the entire frog episode was a pointless one, she slams her head against the dispenser.
